Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a pastoral, inclusion, safeguarding or SEN-related role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges.
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for all young people.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the development and implementation of inclusive practices across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external professionals to support student needs.
  • Coordinate support for vulnerable students, including those at risk of exclusion or disengagement.
  • Contribute to behaviour management and attendance strategies.
  • Support staff development around inclusive teaching and learning approaches.
  • Monitor intervention impact and ensure appropriate record-keeping and reporting.
