Job summary

Wessex Lodge School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking an Inclusion and Engagement Support professional to help remove barriers to learning for students with complex needs. The role focuses on attendance, wellbeing and positive engagement in school and the wider community.

Based at Newmead Farm and Maiden Bradley, Wiltshire, the post offers term-time/permanent continuity with 37.5 hours per week and a salary starting around £23,000 per annum, depending on experience. UK applicants only.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH in educational, youth work or care settings.
• Experience supporting students' pastoral, emotional, behavioural or welfare needs.
• Ability to remain calm, confident and resilient in challenging situations.
• Good record-keeping, organisational and IT skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality, professional boundaries and GDPR compliance.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above or equivalent).
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Support students' engagement, wellbeing and inclusion across the school.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals.
• Assist with pastoral, attendance and intervention programmes.
• Support students during dysregulation using therapeutic and restorative approaches.
• Carry out home visits and family support interventions where appropriate.
• Monitor, record and report safeguarding, attendance and welfare concerns.
• Help implement and review targeted support plans and interventions.
• Attend inclusion meetings and follow up on actions.
• Support the Attendance Officer with attendance tracking and improvement plans.
• Promote strong partnerships between school and home to improve outcomes for students.
