Job Overview

The Role

Trinity is committed to inclusive Education, and the successful management of this area hinges on the ongoing development and implementation of a whole school strategy around positive inclusive practice. The Inclusion Coordinator will work with the pastoral team at all levels (Y7 through Sixth Form) and focus on educating students regarding their behavioural needs to ensure that positive expectations related to academic work and social behaviour lead to improved standards and sustained engagement with learning. The Inclusion Coordinator is a key part of Trinity’s Inclusion agenda and our vision for raising achievement among students with complex behaviours.

Trinity’s Inclusion Coordinator Should Seek To

  • Provide educational support to identified pupils regarding their behaviour.
  • Reduce inappropriate pupil behaviour and its impact on teaching and learning.
  • Minimize the need for fixed and permanent exclusions.
  • Foster a happy and harmonious school community.
  • Coordinate resources and expertise from the SEN Department, School Chaplain, Heads of Year, and safeguarding team.
  • Enhance pupils’ attitudes towards academic work and their engagement in education.
  • Modify learning behaviours to promote active participation in learning.
  • Ensure positive expectations lead to improved pupil practice.
  • Monitor and support attendance, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
  • Oversee reintegration and support plans after exclusions or absences.
  • Collaborate with parents, external agencies, and staff to ensure appropriate support.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and respect across the school.

The Inclusion Coordinator will oversee daily operations of the inclusion unit and work with targeted students to raise standards. They will play a central role in supporting students with additional needs or barriers to learning, ensuring they thrive within our school community. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about inclusion, with a strong background in pastoral or behavioural support, eager to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives.

  • Tactful and sensitive when dealing with varied student behaviours and needs.
