Job summary

Broad Horizons Education Trust is seeking an Inclusion Assistant to support learners by delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, helping students build confidence and essential skills. You will work closely with the SEND and Inclusion Team, teachers and families to monitor progress, provide feedback and create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills with a good educational standard.
• Patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Committed to inclusion and every child’s opportunity to succeed.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned literacy and numeracy intervention programmes to individuals and small groups.
• Support students with varying learning needs, helping them to develop essential English and mathematics skills.
• Monitor, record and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and the Inclusion Team.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and able to succeed.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, parents and external agencies where appropriate.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence and resilience in their learning.
