In Vitro Scientist (Receptor Pharmacology)
Location – Nottingham

Salary – £32,000 - £40,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)

Are you experienced in receptor pharmacology with hands-on expertise in designing and running biochemical and cellular assays? We have an exciting opportunity to join a drug discovery company in Nottingham, supporting diverse client projects in cutting-edge drug discovery programs. The Role
As a Scientist within the receptor pharmacology team, you will be responsible for:
- Design and perform in vitro biochemical and cell-based assays.
- Provide high-quality data to support drug discovery projects.
- Manage experiments and help train junior team members.
- Work closely with clients and the team to solve complex research problems.
- Contribute to research publications and present findings at scientific meetings.
Current / Recent Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- PhD or BSc / MSc with at least 4 years of professional experience in receptor pharmacology (essential).
- Hands-on experience with in vitro molecular biology techniques – such as mammalian cell culture, western blotting, and flow cytometry (essential).
- Experience working with dose-response curves and calculating EC50 / IC50 values (essential).
- Expertise in pharmacology laboratory techniques, including binding assays, SPR assays, radioligand binding, reporter gene assays, luciferase reporter assay, β-galactosidase reporter assay (desirable).
- Expertise in GPCR binding (desirable).
Profile Required
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
- Happy to commute / relocate to Nottingham (essential).
