We’re seeking a Support Worker to assist a disabled actor and filmmaker with everyday activities, travel, and creative projects. The role is varied — part personal assistant, part creative support, and part travel companion.
Please note: Having a car and being able to drive around London is essential for this role.
You’ll often be required to pick up, drop off, and accompany the client across the city — sometimes at short notice.
About the Role
You’ll provide 1:1 in-person support, primarily in East London, with some travel across the city and occasional trips outside London.
You must be able to commit to at least one shift per week, with flexibility for more.
Key Responsibilities
– Driving the client to appointments, events, and film-related activities across London
– Providing support during outings (e.g., navigating venues, set assistance, being on hand in changing rooms)
– Supporting with timekeeping, reminders, and daily structure
– Helping with mobility and equipment setup for auditions or filming
– Offering grounding techniques or other coping strategies when needed
– Assisting in fast-paced or busy environments with clear communication and calm presence
Who You Are
– A confident, responsible driver with your own car and valid UK licence
– Based in London, within easy reach of East London
– Reliable, organised, and comfortable using your initiative
– Able to support someone in women’s changing rooms
– Eligible to work in the UK and either self-employed or willing to register
Desirable (Not Essential)
– Previous support or care experience
– Interest in the TV, film, or performing arts industries
– Familiarity with neurodiversity, chronic illness, or physical disability
What’s Offered
– £25 per hour (paid monthly)
– Expenses paid for any travel outside London
– Informal disability awareness and/or Film & TV training if needed
– A friendly, creative work environment
– A chance to make a long-term difference in someone’s life and career
