Qualifications

Job description

A leading international consultancy business is currently recruiting for an experienced In-House VAT Manager to take ownership of all VAT and indirect tax matters across the organisation.

This is a pivotal role with responsibility for a range of complex VAT scenarios including contracting arrangements, cross-border transactions, and compliance with VAT, CIS, and UK corporation tax. You will work closely with both operational and finance teams, acting as the key point of contact for tax matters and proactively identifying and managing tax risks across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on VAT implications for contracting and commercial arrangements.
  • Manage cross-border VAT issues and ensure compliance with international tax obligations.
  • Oversee all aspects of VAT, CIS, and other indirect tax compliance.
  • Support UK corporation tax compliance and reporting.
  • Provide internal guidance on direct and indirect tax matters, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, ensuring tax risks are understood and mitigated.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.

About You:

  • Professionally qualified (e.g. CTA, ACA, ACCA) or with equivalent tax experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in UK VAT and indirect taxes; experience with CIS is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in an in-house tax function or within a professional services firm.
  • Experience within the consultancy or professional services sector is advantageous but not essential.
