The role:
Following the merger of the KPMG UK and Swiss partnerships, we are looking to recruit an experienced in-house Transfer Pricing Senior Manager into KPMG's UK based Internal Partnership Tax Team which is responsible for managing the tax affairs of the KPMG UK/Swiss group. We are looking for a senior individual to manage and coordinate the transfer pricing policies, documentation and compliance for the merged group. Key responsibilities:
Transfer Pricing Policy and Strategy:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining the transfer pricing policies for the group which align with KPMG's business objectives and are compliant with applicable legislation and international standards.
- Consider strategies to improve tax certainty including Advance Pricing Agreements.
- Proactive advice to business stakeholders on transfer pricing matters, including strategic tax planning and risk management.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, procurement, treasury and business teams in order to advise and report on transfer pricing matters.
Transfer Pricing Analysis:
- Conducting economic analysis and benchmarking studies to support transfer pricing policies.
- Examining transactions between group entities to ensure they are priced fairly and in line with the arm's length principle.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Preparing and maintaining transfer pricing documentation, including master and local files, to support compliance with the UK and global tax regulations.
- Supporting the Partnership Tax team in engaging with HMRC and other tax authorities in relation to transfer pricing and international tax matters.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitoring transfer pricing transactions, identifying and mitigating potential risks and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Working closely with the Finance team to gather data and report transactions.
- Continuous improvement of transfer pricing compliance policies and procedures including use of technology and offshore resource.
Skills and Qualifications:
The role would suit a qualified individual with several years post qualification experience in transfer pricing with the following:
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data, conduct research and interpret complex regulations.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at a senior level, including strong writing an presentations skills.
- Knowledge of Transfer Pricing Principles and Regulations: Understanding of transfer pricing rules and regulations in various jurisdictions, India in particular is relevant.
- Experience of working with HMRC and understanding of HMRC approaches to transfer pricing compliance.
- Wider international tax experience an advantage, but not essential, as there is an opportunity for the role to expand into other areas beyond transfer pricing.
- Experience with Financial Data and Systems: Familiarity with financial statements, accounting principles, and SAP software.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with others in a collaborative environment.
- Problem-solving Abilities: Ability to identify an resolve complex transfer pricing issues.
- Experience in Tax and Accounting: ideally should hold either ACA/CTA qualification or international equivalent.
- Keen interest in adoption of Artificial Intelligence to drive quality and efficiency gains.
The role location is flexible with occasional visits to the Watford office required.
