Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking an Assistant Manager for their in-house Tax Compliance team. This role will involve preparing and reviewing tax computations, advising on UK tax matters, and supporting the tax team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of UK tax compliance experience and strong analytical and interpersonal skills. This position offers a dynamic work environment with occasional visits to Watford.

Qualifications

Job Title: Assistant Manager - In-house Tax Compliance (106352)

Base Location: UK Wide, with occasional visits to Watford

KPMG is looking to recruit an Assistant Manager in their in-house Tax team to deliver:

- Corporate and partnership tax filings

- Advising on UK tax compliance matters

The ideal candidate will demonstrate UK tax compliance experience, the ability to work to tight deadlines, handle large volumes of data, and oversee the work of other team members. The role is high profile, requiring utmost confidentiality, and involves working closely with other tax professionals to deliver efficient tax compliance services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of tax computations for group corporates using Alphatax.
  • Review income and expenses GL codes to identify tax-sensitive balances.
  • Review tax accounting entries prepared by the Financial Reporting team and review tax notes in draft financial statements for group entities.
  • Preparation and review of deferred tax workings.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and review analyses prepared by team members.
  • Reflect changes in legislation in tax computations.
  • Research technical issues and discuss with relevant specialists.
  • Prepare technical notes to accompany tax computations.
  • Work on Country by Country reporting, Corporate Interest Restriction calculations, CFC assessments, and Corporate Loss Reforms.
  • Assist with overseas tax returns (prior experience not required).
  • Calculate and manage tax payments and interest payable.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Assist with HM Revenue & Customs enquiries.

Requirements:

  • Qualified ATT, CTA, or ACA
  • Minimum of 2 years' practical experience with UK partnership or corporate entities
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and commercial skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
