Job description

I am working on behalf of a highly well-known organisation in Yorkshire who have an opening available for an experienced Regulatory Solicitor. This vacancy will involve the successful candidate advising my client's business on all contentious and regulatory matters that arise, with a particular focus on issues arising in relation to the Environment Agency. Candidates who will be of significant interest to my client will be those who can demonstrate a sound working knowledge of criminal and regulatory law and will be comfortable with the procedures involved in the contentious process including, where necessary, taking matters through the courts.

This is a key strategic role for the business and candidates applying will need to be both comfortable and confident at working under minimal supervision and getting stuck into a team where there is work of the highest value and importance available. Along with the environmental nature of my client's business, this role will involve handling all aspects of regulation and compliance, including criminal litigation, health and safety and inquests.

As a minimum guide, candidates who have circa 2PQE or above working within criminal/environmental regulatory law would be encouraged to apply, but my client is prepared to consider candidates who might have less PQE on the basis that they can demonstrate strong criminal/environmental regulatory experience as a paralegal and subsequently through a detailed/lengthy training contract seat.

My client has an office based in Bradford and will expect office attendance 2 days a week. However, this expectation will be higher in the earlier stages of the role while the successful candidates establishes themselves within the business.

On top of a salary which can rise to a maximum of £60,000 per annum (subject to candidates having the requisite experience), my client has an excellent benefits package which is very worthy of consideration, including, amongst other elements, a pension scheme with up to 10% company contributions, an annual incentive related bonus (up to 10% of salary), a company lease/car allowance scheme, private health care and life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary.
