Job Description

The KPMG In-house Tax function is a key part of our UK business, operating across 20 locations and supporting core activities within Central Services. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Internal Partnership Tax Team, responsible for handling tax matters related to KPMG UK, especially concerning overseas work and travel.

Responsibilities
  • Review and advise on tax implications of overseas work for client engagements, including corporate, employment, indirect taxes, and social security.
  • Coordinate with specialists and communicate technical issues clearly to colleagues.
  • Collaborate with non-tax teams like immigration and IT to mitigate risks.
  • Assist with registration and compliance with overseas tax authorities.
  • Prepare analyses and draft calculations for overseas tax returns, requiring strong Excel skills.
  • Handle withholding tax queries and liaise with finance and overseas contacts.
  • Manage communication channels for queries related to policies and taxes.
  • Research double tax treaties and liaise with overseas tax colleagues.
  • Maintain and monitor databases, ensuring data accuracy and follow-ups.
  • Advise stakeholders on legislative changes and reporting requirements.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and overseas tax advisors for knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • ATT qualification and/or experience in UK or overseas tax compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently.
  • Respect for confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Ability to analyze information quickly and accurately.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel & SharePoint.
  • Consultative and commercial approach to problem-solving and service delivery.
