The In-house Legal Director will play a key role at a renowned UK retail business based in Manchester. This position involves overseeing a wide variety of legal matters, including commercial contracts, litigation, and GDPR compliance.

Established in 1994, our client is a leading name in the UK retail industry, renowned for its customer-focused approach and innovative strategies. They are expanding and looking for an enthusiastic lawyer to support their in-house function on a range of legal responsibilities.

Description

The In-house Legal Director will be:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts including supplier agreements, licensing agreements, distribution agreements, and consumer-facing terms and conditions.
  • Supporting on litigation, IP, employment law, regulatory, and corporate governance work.
  • Ensuring compliance with GDPR.
  • Managing external counsel and ensuring efficient case management.

Profile

The In-house Legal Director should be:

  • A solicitor with 5+ years PQE, ideally with experience in retail or commercial sectors.
  • Highly skilled in managing commercial contracts and handling litigation matters.
  • Knowledgeable about GDPR and data protection laws.
  • A strong communicator, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.
