Job description

Job Summary

A&K Travel Group (AKTG), the parent company to Abercrombie & Kent and Crystal Cruises, is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to provide legal support during the maternity leave of one of our team members. This role is a temporary contract position, ideal for a skilled attorney with experience in corporate, commercial and regulatory matters with a specialization in travel law and the UK and EU Package Travel Directives. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented attorney with a desire to handle a wide range of matters, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance including with data protection legislation, managing corporate processes, managing corporate governance and handling business acquisitions or disposals.

Essential Job Duties

  1. Provide legal counsel on various corporate, commercial and regulatory matters with a focus on travel law.
  2. Draft, review and negotiate contracts, including but not limited to supplier agreements, terms and conditions, and other legal documents.
  3. Assist in risk management, corporate governance and internal legal processes.
  4. Handle corporate governance requirements and complete filings, including working with group companies based worldwide to ensure their compliance.
  5. Advise on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with commercial transactions.
  6. Assist with business acquisitions and disposals in coordination with outside counsel.
  7. Other duties as required or assigned.

Competency

Education:
Law degree from a recognized university.

Experience:
3-7+ years of corporate experience in a respected large law firm and/or in-house.
Global travel law experience.

Skills/Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
Strong track record of drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a variety of commercial contracts.
Cruise or travel industry experience highly preferred. As a minimum, experience operating in a highly regulated industry.
Exceptional organization, prioritization, problem solving and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
