In-House Legal Counsel | 3-4 PQE | National Law Firm | Birmingham/Hybrid

BCL Legal is pleased to be assisting a top ranked national law firm in seeking an In-House Legal Counsel to join its in-house Office of Legal Counsel team in Birmingham. This permanent, full-time opportunity offers flexible working options with hybrid working as standard. Excellent salary and benefits are on offer.

The Role

As an In-House Legal Counsel in this dynamic in-house team, you will:
· Work closely with the Head of Legal, Directors, Partners, senior stakeholders, and managers across multiple functions.
· Provide pragmatic, commercial, and responsive legal advice aligned with business objectives.
· Take ownership of drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and agreements.
· Support or lead negotiations involving technology-related matters, data protection, and privacy laws.
· Develop and maintain standard templates, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
· Advise on legal aspects of new and existing products, including third-party technologies.
· Identify and manage legal risks, proposing practical mitigation strategies.
· Stay current with evolving legal and regulatory developments, providing clear guidance to legal and non-legal colleagues.
· Operate within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work.

About You

To be successful in this In-House Legal Counsel role, you will have:
· 3-4 years PQE with solid commercial and negotiation experience.
· Strong commercial awareness and the ability to align legal advice with broader business strategies.
· Demonstrable expertise in technology-related legal matters, especially data protection and privacy.
· Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex legal issues to diverse audiences.
· Sound judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills.
· A proactive, collaborative approach with strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
· The ability to manage multiple competing priorities with adaptability and strong time management.
