Overview

In-house Legal Counsel – Newcastle

Global business with headquarters in Newcastle are seeking a talented lawyer to join its talented in-house team as In-house Legal Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly into the Legal Director, you will be responsible for advising on a wide variety of legal issues across the group. These include:
  • Reviewing drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Advise leadership on contractual, regulatory and cross‑border legal matters.
  • Supports corporate governance and legal entity recordkeeping needs.
  • Provide day-to-day legal and strategic support to commercial teams and act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on key legal and contractual issues.
Experience and Skills
  • UK qualified lawyer with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), gained at a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Your experience can come from a range of the mainstream commercial practice areas, such as commercial contracts or corporate.
  • Candidates with cross-border M&A legal experience would be of interest.
  • An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels. Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
