Our client, a global Data Centre organization operating across the USA, Europe, and Asia, is seeking a multi-skilled (Electrical or Mechanical bias) building services engineer to join their team at a data centre in the Slough/Berkshire area. This role involves working on a continental shift pattern, covering 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, providing 24/7 coverage to ensure 100% uptime.
The salary for this position is between £52,000 and £54,000, depending on experience, plus an annual bonus, healthcare, pension, and opportunities for overtime and training.
Candidates must be fully qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, with at least 5 years of experience in planned and reactive maintenance within a commercial building services environment. Data centre experience is not essential but desirable; experience in similar environments such as healthcare or corporate HQs is also considered. Additional training in LV/HV authorisation, 2391, F-Gas, Mechanical AP, etc., is beneficial.
Key skills include Fault-Finding in electrical & mechanical systems, working with power systems, motors, pumps, air handling units, BMS operation, water treatment, chiller & boiler faults, diesel generators, HV & LV distribution, UPS systems, VESDA, and cooling units.
This is an excellent opportunity for existing building services engineers to join an in-house team, offering better benefits, job security, and a chance to transition into the rapidly growing data centre sector, even without prior specific experience but with enthusiasm and a proactive attitude.
