Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Air Operations team in Warton, England. You will act as a trusted partner providing clear legal advice on complex defence programmes and supporting high profile work across fast jet and future air platforms.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister, with experience in a commercial legal environment and the ability to simplify complex issues. This role requires SC clearance eligibility and involves significant collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must be on the Law Society and or Bar Council Roll as a practising Solicitor or Barrister.
• Ability to apply strong technical legal knowledge in practice.
• Experience in a legal environment with clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with customers and partners.
• Providing clear legal advice that supports delivery and manages risk.
• Supporting compliance across export control, procurement and product safety.
• Identifying and managing legal risks early.
• Supporting dispute resolution and driving practical outcomes.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider legal team.

Overview

You will support high profile work across platforms such as fast jet and future air programmes. You will be part of a global legal function and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

• Supporting compliance across areas such as export control, procurement and product safety
• Identifying and managing legal risks early
• Supporting dispute resolution and helping drive practical outcomes
• Working closely with internal stakeholders and the wider legal team

Skills & Experience

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK
• Experience in a commercial legal environment
• Strong technical legal knowledge with the ability to apply it in practice
• Clear communication skills and ability to simplify complex issues
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders and taking ownership

Clearance

Eligible for SC CLEARANCE

Must be on the Law Society and or the Bar Council Roll as a practising Solicitor or Barrister!
