Are you a UK corporate tax professional looking for an exciting role within a global, innovative organisation? Our large engineering client, with a passion for excellence and a commitment to continuous improvement, are seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team and help drive the evolution of their in-house tax function.
The Role:
As Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Tax within the business' Group Tax function. This is a highly collaborative and dynamic position, perfect for someone who thrives on delivering high-quality tax solutions and contributing to the success of a fast-paced, global business. This would be an excellent opportunity for those seeking their first move out of practice, seeking a varied in-house role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing tax compliance requirements, including reviewing corporate tax returns as prepared by outsourced tax providers, working closely with the Groupaccounting team.
- Assisting with the preparation and review of tax packages for year-end Group Reporting.
- Preparing tax calculations for quarterly Group Tax Reporting and year-end disclosures for UK companies.
- Involvement withGroup advisory projects and queries, including VAT, Employment Tax, International taxes,Withholding Tax, and Customs duties.
- Overseeing the Group Transfer Pricing documentation process and liaising with external partners.
- Supporting with tax audits and ad hoc requests from the business
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualifications : A professional tax or accounting qualification (CA/CTA/ACCA)
- Experience : 3-5+ years of relevant UK corporate tax and accounting experience with strong technical knowledge gained in a top accounting firm or in-house tax team of a large business. Prior experience of working with large corporate clients desirable.
- Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools. Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset with a willingness to embrace change and develop new areas of expertise. Knowledge/Experience of US/International tax advantageous, but not essential
