Job summary

Confidential | London-based law firm seeks a Contracts Paralegal for a 6-month fixed-term contract to support management of commercial and supplier contracts within the in-house legal function.

The role involves onboarding suppliers, working with Information Security and Data Privacy teams, and maintaining contract records in HighQ. You will liaise with Legal and Business Professional teams to meet deadlines and drive lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• UK law degree or Commonwealth equivalent.
• Paralegal experience with exposure to commercial contracts, supplier agreements or procurement.
• Good understanding of commercial law and contracts.
• Interest in in-house legal function within a law firm.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to learn and navigate bespoke legal/document management systems.
• Experience with HighQ and/or iManage would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the firm's in-house Legal team with the management and administration of commercial and supplier contracts.
• Assist with the onboarding of new third-party suppliers, including reviewing supplier questionnaires and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure prospective suppliers meet requirements.
• Liaise with the Legal team, Business Professional teams and other internal stakeholders to understand requirements and timelines relating to contracts.
• Provide practical support and guidance to stakeholders throughout the firm's legal procurement process.
• Maintain accurate supplier and contract records within HighQ.
• Upload and maintain UK supplier records, contracts and documentation.
• Manage the legal procurement matter intake mailbox and active matter tracker.
• Coordinate with relevant Business Professional teams to ensure contract-related actions and deliverables are completed within timescales.
• Monitor key contractual dates and alert stakeholders.
• Support the ongoing maintenance and development of contract lifecycle processes.
• Identify and capture existing UK supplier contracts within the system.
• Assist with updating supplier questionnaires, templates and documentation used in the process.
• Support training for Business Professional teams on procurement processes and contract management system.
• Assist with wider projects and initiatives undertaken by the Legal team.
