An established industry player is seeking a talented commercial lawyer to join their dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to provide pragmatic legal advice on commercial contracts, data protection, and GDPR matters. A global player in the engineering and consultancy field, this robust business holds a strong market position alongside a commitment to sustainability and innovation. Due to recent team developments, the in-house legal team is looking to appoint a talented commercial lawyer to join their high-calibre national team.
As a key member of the legal team, you will provide pragmatic legal advice on a range of commercial contracts matters, including data protection, data privacy and GDPR advice. You will work in a business-facing role and will be expected to manage your own workload, support with tender processes, work closely with the procurement team, keep up to date with horizon scanning and work on projects to update policies and procedures to ensure high standards across all business areas.
You will be based in central Leeds or Newcastle and enjoy working in a well-located part of town, with excellent public transport links, plus plenty of opportunity to work from home on a regular basis.
You will need a solid foundation in commercial contracts and delivering high-quality work, either in private practice or in-house. Your strengths as a lawyer will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, advising the business on data protection matters and outsourced service provider contracts. You will need to be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships across the business.
You will ideally have 2-4 years' PQE and be available to work in the Leeds or Newcastle office on a hybrid basis.
