Job description
Position Overview

A well known organisation has a new opportunity to join their in-house insurance team in this role which will offer a Claims Handler exposure to a wide variety of claims, including employers and public liability, motor and property claims.

Key Responsibilities

This role gives you autonomy to make decisions that protect vital public services and community assets. As a Claims Handler within this in-house insurance team, you’ll be at the heart of managing risk and resolving claims that impact real lives.

From the moment a claim is reported – whether it’s a public liability incident, an employer’s liability matter, a motor accident, or property damage – you’ll take ownership. You’ll investigate the details, gather evidence, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure every claim is handled fairly, efficiently, and in line with service standards.

Your day will be varied. One moment you’re analysing claims data to spot trends and improve processes; the next you’re preparing reports or advising colleagues on policy interpretation. You’ll be the trusted point of contact, providing clear communication and expert guidance to keep everyone informed.

Qualifications

To be considered you will need to have previous claims experience – all disciplines will be considered, including EL/PL, motor and property. Candidates will be considered from a current in-house team, insurer, broker, TPA or law firm.

Working Conditions & Career Development

Flexibility will be offered to work from home; on average you will be in the office two days per week. Further opportunities to progress within the in-house insurance team will be available, either further within claims or even into an Insurance Officer position.
