Job summary

Abracaredabra is looking for a compassionate care assistant to support a young man with autism and complex needs at his home in Dorset. Alternate Tuesday shifts from 7:20am to 2:30pm and Thursday shifts from 7:20am to 1:30pm provide part-time, hands-on care.

You will be supported with shadowing, training, and a friendly team; no prior experience required beyond a caring approach. The role offers flexible hours and a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• No formal experience required; personal qualities and values prioritized.
• Willing to be hands-on and have fun with the client.
• Comprehensive shadowing and training provided from day one.

Responsibilities

• Making nutritional meals.
• Trips out across Dorset in his own car; possible picnics or snacks.
• Personal care for the client.
• Computer play with Thomas the Tank Engine, Bob the Builder and Postman Pat videos; engage with his cartoons.
• Arts and crafts, costumes, and fun activities.
