The role!

Position: In-Home Support (IHS) Mentor
Location: Wakefield, MA
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 10–25 hours per week
Shifts: Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours available

Summary & Responsibilities

In-Home Support Mentors are responsible for teaching life and social skills to individuals in various environments using their home and community as the classroom.
Responsibilities include:

  • Empowering individuals to manage their Individual Support Plan (ISP) and working directly on their goals
  • Assisting with activities of daily living as needed
  • Seeking input from individuals and families and responding accordingly
  • Supporting individuals to advocate for their needs and desires, recognizing their rights to make decisions and take risks
  • Monitoring overall health, nutrition, social, and general welfare
  • Completing assessments and paperwork as required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required; BA in Human Services or related field preferred
  • At least 1 year supporting adults with developmental disabilities; 3 years preferred
  • Passion and dedication to supporting people
  • Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background and reference checks
