Cory, a leading waste management and recycling company, is hiring an IMS Coordinator for its Riverside facility. The role involves maintaining certifications, managing documentation systems, and assisting with audits to enhance the Integrated Management System. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, experience with ISO standards, and A-level education.
Cory is one of the UK’s leading waste management and recycling companies.
Cory operates one of the largest energy from waste facilities in the United Kingdom, with a unique river-based infrastructure on the Thames for delivering waste.
Cory is planning to invest more than £900 million in its operations and river infrastructure over the coming years. This includes the Riverside 2 energy from waste facility which is currently being built next to the company's existing energy from waste facility in Belvedere.
We are currently recruiting for an IMS Coordinator to be based at Riverside. This is a key role maintaining Cory’s Integrated Management System (IMS) certifications in occupational safety, environmental management, quality management and competency management.
The successful candidate will:
Maintain external certification to the existing ISO and EU Skills standards and facilitate implementation of any new ISO or equivalent standards into the Cory IMS as business needs dictate.
Manage IMS documentation SharePoint (or equivalent data sharing site) document control system, ensuring approved version-controlled documentation for activities covered by the IMS is available to relevant parties and a suitable archive system exists.
Ensure monitoring equipment under the control of the HSEQ department is calibrated.
Maintain and support the internal and external auditing requirements of the Cory IMS.
Review the effectiveness of the IMS and feedback at operational and management levels making recommendations for system improvements.
Support the smooth running of the HSEQ team.
Perform other reasonable duties as required.
The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
Educated to A-level standard
Understanding of management systems, particularly ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, ISO45001 Occupational Safety management systems and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Ability to be constructive whilst maintaining a tactful approach
Ability to be an effective team player, and able to operate as a constructive team member
Working to strict deadlines
Strong written and communication skills, and high standard of verbal communication skills
PC Skills (Microsoft Office programmes)
Ability to influence management
Ability to develop credible and trustworthy relationships with all levels of employees
Be willing to work at all operational locations along the River Thames corridor
The following skills are desirable:
Holder of a relevant professional qualification e.g., NEBOSH H&S /IOSH Managing Safely Certificate &/ or IEMA Associate Membership certificate
Knowledge of waste legislation, health and safety legislation and environmental legislation
Previous auditing experience against a documented system
