Position: Import Operator

Location: Aberdeen

Hours: 8:30 - 5pm

Salary: Up to £35,000 doe

Caledonia Recruitment are recruiting an Import Operator for our Freight Forwarding client based in Aberdeen. The ideal candidate will be fully conversant in all aspects of Import operations and have a strong customs background, ensuring smooth and efficient transportation of goods. You will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to offer top class customer satisfaction.

Your Key Responsibilities As An Import Operator

1. Coordinate and manage the shipment of goods via import freight.
2. Book road, air, and sea freight.
3. Track and update delivery statuses in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients.
4. Handle job invoicing and costing.
5. Prepare, track, and manage all documentation related to freight shipments, including air waybills, customs declarations, and invoices.
6. Prepare and submit customs clearances.
7. Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
8. Maintain accurate records.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to optimize freight processes and improve service delivery.

Requirements

1. A minimum of 1 year experience with a UK freight forwarder in air freight.
2. The ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
