First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking an Import/Export Operations Agent.

As an Import-Export Agent for our client, you will play a crucial role in facilitating international shipments supporting Life Scientists worldwide. Your responsibilities include coordinating a wide range of time-critical imports/exports and ensuring compliance with international customs and transport regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and present quotes for air consignments of temperature-sensitive biological & pharmaceutical shipments supporting Life Science research.
  2. Provide verbal and written customer service support to complete tasks and bookings within agreed timescales.
  3. Ensure data and security integrity of customer information is maintained at all times.
  4. Coordinate all modes of transport with internal and external partners in the UK and overseas.
  5. Prepare and coordinate all freight documentation, including airway bills, shipping certificates, health certificates, import/export licenses, customs entry documentation, and other supporting documents.
  6. Work with all types of cargo and perform all necessary associated tasks.
  7. Undertake any required training courses to understand and complete tasks.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of customs, trade agreements, tariff INCO Terms, and basic computer software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, SCOPE, and SAMSARA software is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of air (IATA), sea freight, and dangerous goods regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
