Qualifications

  • Familiarity with EAR/ITAR export controls is desirable.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all import/export operations, including declarations, compliance, and documentation.
  • Liaise with brokers, forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders for timely delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare shipping documents: invoices, packing lists, origin certificates, licenses.
  • Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues.
  • Audit import/export activities to identify improvements and reduce risk.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain and legal teams to optimize logistics.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate impact to teams.
  • Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for logistics activities.

Job Description Summary

As an Import & Export Logistics Specialist at GE Aerospace you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders, supporting our global operations.

Job Description Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute all aspects of import and export operations, including customs declarations, trade compliance, and documentation for air, sea, and road freight.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies, including EAR, ITAR, and other applicable export control regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and import/export licenses.
  • Track and monitor shipments, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays or issues.
  • Conduct regular audits of import/export activities and documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and legal teams to optimize logistics processes and minimize risks.
  • Stay informed of changes in international trade regulations and communicate their impact to relevant departments.
  • Utilize and maintain various logistics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Participate in special projects related to supply chain optimization and global trade compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in import and export logistics, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping procedures (e.g., Incoterms).
  • Proven experience with customs documentation and declarations.
  • Familiarity with export control regulations such as EAR and ITAR is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
