Job Title: Import / Export Coordinator

Location: Ipswich

Salary: Market leading/Competitive

Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday (occasional early start of 8am)

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:

Essential:

1. Minimum 1 year's experience in freight forwarding/import/export operations/shipping line.
2. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
3. Strong communication and customer service skills.
4. Familiarity with CNS, Destin8, and general Microsoft packages.
5. Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage workload independently.
6. Understanding of Incoterms and container types.

Desirable:

1. Experience with deep sea import shipments.
2. Knowledge of IPAFFS, customs documentation, and industry procedures.
3. A-Level / Degree level education (preferred but not essential).
4. Proactive problem-solving mindset with critical thinking skills.

Key duties & Responsibilities:

1. Coordinating deep sea import/export operations, working closely with internal teams and clients.
2. Preparing import declarations using commercial invoices and packing lists.
3. Communicating with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, and warehouses.
4. Managing carrier haulage bookings and tracking daily shipment progress.
5. Liaising with customs and port health officials regarding documentation and inspections.
6. Handling a variety of documentation including EUR1s, CofOs, CHEDs, and COIs.
7. Maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets, and group inboxes.
8. Using systems like CNS and Destin8 to process and manage data.
