Job Title: Import & Export Coordinator


Location: Exeter


Salary: £25,000-£32,000 DOE


Hours: Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm

The Company: Office Angels are delighted to be working with a global logistics company based in Exeter with Headquarters in the USA. For more than 40 years, customers have relied on the company as an industry leader for supply chain solutions. You will get all of the support and excitement of working for a global company with a worldwide presence but with that local close-knit team in Exeter, where you will be working with a stable team of 7 dedicated staff!


The Role: This is an exciting new role due to company growth. You will be working within a fun team of 3 supporting the day-to-day activity of the Import and Export department. The successful candidate will handle the day-to-day tasks associated with all the shipping and logistics.


Day to day responsibilities:

  1. Process and manage import/export orders from suppliers
  2. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely order fulfilment
  3. Prepare and maintain documentation
  4. Work with customs to facilitate the clearance of imported/exported goods
  5. Ensure all duties and taxes are calculated and paid on time
  6. Arrange transportation and logistics for incoming shipments
  7. Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery
  8. Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs officials to resolve issues
  9. Maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding shipment status
  10. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse for proper stock management
  11. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with import/export procedures
  12. Generate and analyse reports related to import/export activities and shipment performance
  13. Provide insights to management for process improvements
  14. Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners
  15. Negotiate terms and conditions to improve procurement efficiency.

Your Experience and Skills:

  1. Experience within an import/export role is desirable but not essential if you have had some exposure to this type of environment
  2. Excellent organisational and time management skills
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
  5. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  7. Able to work within a team and independently
  8. A positive and hardworking attitude!
