Are you an experienced customs professional ready to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced logistics environment? We're looking for an Import Customs Manager to join our Newport office and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across the UK and Northern Ireland.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and support the Import Customs Team in preparing and submitting import declarations.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and manage all related documentation.
  • Oversee the creation of CDS and Safety & Security Declarations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, HMRC, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate data entry across systems including Thyme-It, Tyche, and Cargoes.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, importers, exporters, and warehouse personnel.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
  • Ensure timely communication and resolution of customer queries.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in customs operations, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of HMRC procedures and import/export documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using customs and logistics software.
  • A proactive, flexible, and customer-focused mindset.

Working Conditions
  • Location: Newport (office-based with occasional remote work)
  • Hours: Flexibility required, including evenings and weekends as per rota
