Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bristol City Council at a time of significant transformation through our One Council Transformation Plan.
Our Better Faster Cheaper (BFC) programme is investing to make our services better, faster and cheaper by:
We are looking for an Implementation Support Lead to help us deliver the goods quickly and effectively. In this senior role you will take a hands‑on approach to help us get things done. These will range from changes to digital, policy, processes and even whole services, offering a varied and lively working environment.
You will help identify opportunities and implement changes to reduce internal bureaucracy, prevent avoidable demand and make it easier for colleagues to get things done, focusing on quicker wins and policy matters. You will work alongside our growing digital delivery teams, ensuring that the improvement you drive complements the programme’s longer‑term transformation activity.
Working at the heart of the council’s transformation effort, you’ll need to be capable of working with a high level of autonomy. You will be able to form and maintain great working relationships with colleagues ranging from the most senior officers and politicians through to operational colleagues who you may be asking to change things they hold dear.
You will be someone who can turn your hand to many different activities and keep plates spinning, supporting BFC to deliver on many different fronts. You will keep a clear focus on getting things done whilst bringing people on the journey, fostering a positive One Council culture across traditional departmental silos.
