Part Time - 2.5 days a week (preferably one day will be Friday), Fixed Term until 31st March 2027 An exciting opportunity has opened up within Family Help that sits within the South Neighbourhood Team, for an experienced and motivated Social Worker. The work undertaken by the team is very broad, varied and no day is ever the same! As a Family Help Social Worker, you will have good assessment skills and will hold CIN plans for children where the family are found to be intentionally homeless. You will need sound risk management skills and be able to support colleagues over threshold decisions and offer advice and guidance as needed across the whole of Family Help. You will also respond to requests for advice from outside professionals and partner agencies. Practice frameworks and approaches: In order to support families in achieving change, there are a number of different approaches and methodologies which underpin our practice in Bristol:

  • Signs of Safety is the framework we use to assess and respond to harm.
  • Systemic Social Work Practice provides the theories to understand the complexity of an individual’s experiences and the influence they have on their ability to make and sustain change.
  • Relationship based Practice means strengthening relationships between people as well as strengthening social connections within communities.
  • Contextual Safeguarding enables us to assess and respond to harm that affects children outside their families
