Job description

Reporting to the Implementation Manager, this position is responsible for defining, scoping, and documenting business requirements (internal and external) through in-depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information. Ensuring the delivered solution meets the defined business requirements. The business analyst works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery and client-related activities at Magentus.

What about the role :

  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to scope, document, validate, and test solutions to existing and future products Magentus offers.
  • Developing business and functional / technical requirements, and functional design specifications with the client, ensuring the required accuracy and detail is scoped to be programmed to the required standard.
  • Proactively identify, manage, or escalate risks and issues, developing and researching options for remediation or mitigation.
  • Work with cross-functional client teams such as technical, business, delivery, change, and testing to ensure requirements, functional, and design specifications receive acceptance from required stakeholder groups.
  • Deliver product or functional training to clients on delivered enhancements.
  • Create process flow diagrams to support workflow and processing rules.
  • Provide as-built documentation for internal and external stakeholders on delivered enhancements, updating product manuals where indicated.
  • Assist with new client and product implementations including workflow documentation, providing general implementation guidance, training, and support.
  • Project manage all components of small projects under the supervision of the Functional Implementation Lead.
  • Other duties as required from time to time.

What experience do I need :

  • 5+ years proven work experience as a Business Analyst or similar in health technology.
  • Strong understanding of ANZSBT Guidelines and Blood Transfusion laboratory workflows.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Applied Science, or equivalent (highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, functional design, and healthcare integration and interoperability standards and best practices (HL7, APIs, etc).
  • Pathology or medical background (desirable).
  • Lean Six Sigma & / or ITIL Foundations (desirable).
