Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Grad/Junior/Mid Level Implementation Engineer (Solutions Engineer) for its London office. The role focuses on learning the product through hands-on client implementations, starting with one project and progressing to multiple while building automation and AI-assisted setup.

You will work on configuring client instances, translating discovery briefs into engineering requirements, and collaborating with the engineering team to fix issues and improve the platform.

Qualifications

• Experience writing code.
• Strong SQL skills (MySQL preferred).
• Clear written communication and confidence on client calls.
• Hands-on configuration experience and willingness to learn the product.

Responsibilities

• Configure client instances to meet requirements and see implementations through testing, UAT and go-live.
• Work from the discovery brief and clarify requirements with the implementations team and clients, mostly in writing.
• Understand client goals and map to product configuration and engineering needs.
• Reproduce, diagnose and fix issues during implementations across front end and back end.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team on fixes and features.
• Build and improve tooling and automation to speed up implementations, including AI-assisted setup.
• Feed recurring client needs back into product and engineering teams.

Grad / Junior / Mid Level - Implementation Engineer (Solutions Engineer) | London, Office-Based (4 days minimum) | £35,000 - £50,000 DOE

Our client is a regulatory compliance technology provider helping financial services organisations manage compliance through an extensible, easy-to-integrate platform. Their mission is to remove reliance on manual oversight and give audit, risk and compliance teams real-time regulatory assurance. They have grown organically and now sit within a wider group of 200+ people, while operating as a small, driven team of around 15 building a modern product.

The role

You will help clients get live on the platform. For the first 6-12 months you will focus on learning the product through hands‑on configuration of client implementations. You will start on one implementation alongside a senior colleague, then build up to running several projects at once. As your skills develop, you will take on more fixes, automation and product work, with a clear path into core engineering. You will also help shape how AI tools are used to improve the implementation approach.

Responsibilities

• Understand what clients are trying to achieve and how it maps to the product, and translate that into configuration and requirements for engineering

• Build and improve tooling and automation that speed up implementations, including AI-assisted setup
• Feed recurring client needs and configuration pain points back into the product and engineering teams

About you

• Computer science or similar technical background, with experience writing code
• Experience with SQL (MySQL ideal), able to query a database and work out what has gone wrong
• Clear written communication and confidence on client calls
• Comfortable with hands‑on configuration and happy to learn the product through it
• Keen to own problems end to end, front end or back end
• Curious about reconciliation and financial operations
• Experience with AI tools, with an appetite to help own how they are used to automate and improve implementations
• Thinks outside the box and brings ideas to improve how things are done
• Willing to push hard when a go‑live needs it
• Ambitious to build a career in software engineering
• Support, solutions engineering or consulting experience is desirable

Package and location.

Office‑first role based in London, with a minimum of four days a week in the office and no client travel. Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
