Job summary

Dovetail and Slate Limited in the Yorkshire and the Humber region is seeking a Teaching Learning and Assessment Coordinator to support teaching teams and learners. The role blends hands-on delivery with coaching, aiming to raise standards and student progress across functional skills from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching functional skills across levels.
• Mentor or coach tutors to improve practice.
• Confidence conducting lesson observations with constructive feedback.
• Strong ability to track and act on learner progress data.
• Experience managing exam entries and awarding body compliance.
• Willingness to collaborate with regional leadership to set priorities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching of functional skills from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
• Provide in-class support and interventions tailored to learners.
• Plan curriculum to individual learner needs.
• Mentor tutors and share best practices.
• Lead CPD programmes to drive improvement.
• Conduct lesson observations and give constructive feedback.
• Track student progress and attainment using data.
• Manage exam entries in line with awarding bodies.
• Collaborate with Regional Head to set priorities.
