Job summary

Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Furness area, in the Learning Disability, Transition and Autism Team. The post offers a permanent contract and a career grade system, with starting salaries dependent on competencies and experience.

The role focuses on person-centred practice, risk management and collaboration with carers and external partners to improve quality of life for adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Qualifications

• Accredited Social Worker Degree and professional registration are essential.
• Experience in a similar role with caseload management and intervention planning.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, national legislation and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs and outcomes for adults with learning disabilities, autism or transition needs.
• Apply person-centred approaches and plan preventative, strength-based interventions.
• Manage complex risks and coordinate with carers and partners.
