Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is looking for a Social Work Practice Supervisor to join the Help and Protection team. Working with the Team Manager, you will oversee cases, allocate families to Lead Practitioners, and ensure timely, needs-led assessments and support.

With guidance, you will provide reflective supervision, oversee Early Help and Family Assessments, and contribute to family plans. You will chair multi-agency meetings, support a whole-family approach, and maintain child-focused

Responsibilities

• Oversee cases with Team Manager, allocate families to Lead Practitioners, ensure timely, needs-led assessments and support.
• Provide reflective supervision to Lead Practitioners and oversee Early Help, section 17 Family Assessments, and family plans.
• Support Lead Practitioners to implement a whole family approach and complete assessments as required.
• Establish and deliver effective multi-agency Family Help plans and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Chair meetings to implement and review support plans; engage MACPT where concerns arise.
• Prepare and present assessments and reports to conferences, courts and panels as required.
• Promote children's views, education, safety, health and wellbeing in assessments and plans.
• Collect and record information in the social care IT system and safeguard children.
