Job summary

Castle Employment Group is partnering with a welcoming primary school in York to recruit a Long-Term Supply SEND Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term supply basis. You will support pupils with SEND, helping them access learning and grow confidence in a caring environment.

The role offers both full-time or part-time options with competitive PAYE pay (£14.24–£16.00 per hour) and access to CPD and safeguarding updates. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience supporting children with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, patient and committed to helping young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing and consistent support for children with SEND.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication and emotional development.
• Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work alongside teachers and support staff to deliver engaging activities.
• Assist with personalised learning plans and targeted interventions.
• Support children with confidence, independence and social skills.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
