Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group is recruiting a qualified School Counsellor to join our team at Felpham Community College in Bognor Regis. This 7.5-hour-a-week term-time role is permanent, on-site, with a pro rata salary of £34,475 per annum.

Working day is currently Tuesday 08:30–16:30, with flexibility discussed at interview. You will work within the Dialogue thresholds, delivering sessions in a 6–8 session model and collaborating with the Student Services team.

Qualifications

• Qualified counsellor/psychotherapist (Level 4 minimum).
• Experience building therapeutic relationships with children/young people.
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Run a flexible appointment system for school-based assessments and counselling.
• Manage time-bound workload and referrals with school staff.
• Carry out initial clinical and risk assessments and determine referral pathways.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
