Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking a part-time School Based Counsellor (Welsh essential) to join the City’s School Based Counselling Service. You will provide counselling support in secondary and primary schools and in community settings, contributing to ongoing service development.

You will have Welsh Level 4 – Advanced communication skills and access to regular supervision and CPD opportunities. The role supports safeguarding, social inclusion and pupil wellbeing across schools.

Qualifications

• Hold a professional diploma in Counselling.
• Be accredited/registered with BACP/UKCP or equivalent.
• Understand safeguarding, social inclusion and wellbeing agendas.

Responsibilities

• Work in comprehensive and primary schools and community settings as part of the counselling service.
• Receive regular clinical and managerial supervision and engage in professional development.
