Job summary

RSPCA Assured is seeking a PR and Communications Officer to drive media activity and storytelling for the UK farm assurance scheme. The role is 35 hours per week, hybrid with a Horsham office presence on Wednesdays, and some travel required.

You will craft compelling narratives, build media relationships, monitor coverage and collaborate across teams to align messaging with organisational goals. A DBS check may be required, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in PR/press office or journalism.
• Strong copywriting with ability to translate agricultural information into accessible stories.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage reputational risk.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel for field work.

Responsibilities

• Research, build and maintain a pipeline of rich stories and multimedia assets.
• Write press releases, op-eds, thought-leadership pieces and Q&As for outlets.
• Pitch stories to journalists and manage media relationships.
• Monitor daily news, evaluate reputational risks and handle enquiries.
• Collaborate with teams to align messaging and evaluate coverage impact.
• Maintain media records and produce performance reports.
