RSPCA is seeking an Engagement Innovation Manager to shape how we engage supporters and new audiences, turning ideas into income-generating opportunities and real impact for animals.

In this hybrid 12-month maternity cover role, you’ll lead the innovation pipeline, work with teams across the Society, test ideas from inception to delivery, and influence senior stakeholders to embed innovation in our plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering innovation projects, ideally within fundraising, marketing or customer engagement.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising products and channels and how these meet customer needs and encourage supporters to dedicate time or donate.
  • Experience developing and delivering strategies and products using innovation techniques.
  • Experience delivering large-scale projects that meet organisational objectives and success criteria.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Understanding of market analysis, marketing and fundraising.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships across teams.
  • Experience of line management.
  • Resilience, determination and diplomacy to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive culture of innovation.
  • Ability to uphold the RSPCA's organisational values and behaviours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the innovation pipeline using audience insight, supporter needs and market trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Develop new products and channels and improve existing services and supporter experiences.
  • Collaborate across teams to bring ideas from research and ideation through prototyping to delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on innovation approaches and ensure ideas are tested and aligned with what matters to supporters and animals.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and work with colleagues to embed innovation in future plans.

We are looking for a new team member to join us as an Engagement Innovation Manager.


Working hours:35 hours / Monday – FridayLocation: This is a hybrid role, primarily remote-based with the expectation to attend occasional meetings in London or Horsham.Contract: 12-month fixed-term maternity cover.

As our Engagement Innovation Manager, you'll help shape how the RSPCA engages with supporters and new audiences, developing innovative opportunities that generate income and ultimately help us create a better world for animals.


You'll lead the innovation pipeline, using audience insight, supporter needs and emerging market trends to identify new opportunities. From developing new products and channels to improving existing services and supporter experiences, you'll help turn great ideas into solutions that deliver real impact.


This is a highly collaborative role. You'll work across teams and directorates to bring people together, challenge thinking and create a culture where innovation can thrive. You'll provide expert advice on innovation approaches, from research and ideation through to prototyping and delivery, ensuring new ideas are tested, developed and focused on what matters most to our supporters and the animals we exist to protect.


You'll also influence senior stakeholders and work with colleagues across the Society to ensure innovation is embedded into our future plans.

We're looking for someone who is strategic, curious and confident in turning ideas into action. You'll be comfortable challenging existing ways of working, spotting opportunities and bringing people with you.


You'll have:



  • Experience of delivering innovation projects, ideally within fundraising, marketing, customer engagement or a similar environment.

  • A strong understanding of fundraising products and channels and how these can meet customer needs and encourage supporters to dedicate time to help animals, share their voice on behalf of animals or generate income.

  • Experience of developing and delivering strategies and products using innovation techniques.

  • Experience of delivering large-scale projects that meet organisational objectives and success criteria.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • An understanding of market analysis, marketing and fundraising.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

  • The ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships across teams.

  • Experience of line management.

  • Resilience, determination and diplomacy, with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex situations.

Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles may need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
