Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant for a part-time role in Fareham. The position is contracted to 15 hours per week across 43.8 weeks per year, with opportunities for progression within a company that values its people and brand.

You will handle food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and ensure safe operation of equipment while supporting deliveries and representing Chartwells positively.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
• Willingness to work part-time and flexible shifts.
• Understanding of Food Handling & Hygiene standards required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding areas.
• Ensure correct use of all machinery and equipment.
• Assist with loading or unloading deliveries and supplies.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.
• Demonstrate ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate at all levels.
• Be an excellent team player and organised in approach.
• Commit to progressing within the company where possible.
