Job summary

EdStart Schools is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers to deliver differentiated lessons, support students with SEN, and contribute to PSHE and personal development.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience in a school setting, including SEN, is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: provide support for lessons ensuring SEN students are engaged.
• Individual and Group Support: work with individuals or small groups for progress.
• Teaching and Delivery: deliver PSHE sessions aligned with curriculum.
• Planning and Preparation: assist with lesson resources for diverse learners.
• Behaviour and Pastoral Support: manage behaviour and provide pastoral care.
• Assessment and Monitoring: help assess progress and provide feedback.
• SEN Support: implement tailored interventions with SENCo and staff.
• Inclusion and Differentiation: ensure equal access with differentiated support.
• Communication with Parents and Carers: maintain links and progress updates.
• Safeguarding and Well-being: follow safeguarding policies for student welfare.
• Professional Development: engage in ongoing professional development.
