Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Community Practitioner for the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service. The role involves autonomous practice within a supportive MDT, assessing individuals at risk or in a first episode of psychosis across North Yorkshire, with in-house training provided.

You will carry a caseload, deliver evidence-based therapies, and work toward recovery-focused outcomes, across ages 14–65.

Qualifications

• Current professional registration with an approved professional body.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• For registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
• 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework (at the point of application).
• Recognised sign-off mentor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
• Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent).
• Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote early detection of psychosis and contribution toward clinical guidelines for primary/secondary care, key agencies and the public.
• Assess patients with potential first episode of psychosis and develop plans within a multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions for psychosis.
• Manage a caseload with emphasis on recovery and high-quality clinical contact.
• Travel across the locality to deliver services and engage with communities.
