Job summary

The Ecclesbourne School in Duffield, Derbyshire, invites applications for a Classroom Cover Supervisor to support teaching staff and ensure continuity of learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. The post is based at The Ecclesbourne School and is term-time with INSET days, with a fixed term until July 2027 and options for full or part-time working.

You will supervise classes during short-term teacher absence, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and uphold behaviour standards in line with school policies.

Qualifications

• A good standard of education, ideally to degree level or equivalent.
• Previous experience of working with young people is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage behaviour firmly and fairly, with confidence and authority.
• Strong interpersonal skills and resilience to adapt to diverse classroom situations.
• Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the Class Teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects for KS3 and KS4.
• Ensure students stay on task and behaviour is in line with school policies.
