Job summary

Thomas Middlecott Academy is seeking an Alternative Provision Mentor to support identified at-risk pupils as part of a coordinated school and agency response. The role focuses on improving behaviour, engagement and well-being, with a permanent contract for 37 hours per week across 39 weeks a year, term-time only.

The successful candidate will have GCSE/NVQ 2 in English and Maths, experience with children in education, and strong interpersonal skills to engage with parents, staff and the wider

Qualifications

  • GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Experience of working with children or young adults in an education setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with parents, carers, scholars, staff and the wider community.

Responsibilities

  • Target support as part of a coordinated response by the school and other agencies for identified “at risk” pupils where barriers are related to behaviour, well-being, engagement, attitude and attendance.
  • Contribute to sustainable changes in individuals and improve behaviour and attitudes towards school and learning.
