Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub and Adult Safeguarding Team in Morpeth. The post offers hybrid working with a minimum 3 days in the office at County Hall.

You will triage safeguarding referrals within 24 hours, assess risk, liaise with clients, and collaborate with Police, Health and Housing to safeguard adults at risk across Northumberland.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, qualified Social Workers with a commitment to continuous development.
• Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England is essential.
• ASYE completion in the UK is required or beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out triage of new safeguarding referrals within 24 hours.
• Assess risk and strengths and implement safety planning.
• Liaise with clients via telephone and conduct home visits.
• Work with partner agencies in a multi-agency safeguarding hub.
• Undertake or support Section 42 enquiries as required.
• Develop person-centred safeguarding plans with adults at risk.
