Job summary

University of Birmingham is seeking a focused researcher to support immunology projects in type 1 diabetes. The role involves managing murine colonies, performing in vivo injections and flow cytometry, and applying bioinformatic analyses to study immune responses.

Collaborating with the Diabetes Research group, you will contribute to high-impact publications and training of postgraduate students, under a fixed-term contract until August 2029.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in relevant subject.
• Experience applying flow cytometry techniques.
• Knowledge of murine colony management and diabetes immunology.

Responsibilities

• Manage murine colonies (genotyping, diabetes screening)
• Perform in vivo T cell and splenocyte transfers
• Conduct flow cytometric experiments and analyses
• Apply bioinformatic data analysis methods
• Support project grants and publish research outputs
• Supervise students and provide guidance on experiments
