Job description

Support the safe and efficient delivery of the school-based immunisation programme as directed by Welsh Government.

Increase local uptake of childhood immunisations to meet national and regional targets.

Assist in national and local catch-up campaigns to improve uptake, including routine immunisation schedules and emergency vaccinations, e.g., MMR.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse for School Aged Children in South Powys during school term time. The work base is yet to be decided; however, the successful applicant should be willing and able to travel to support colleagues throughout North Powys. Travel expenses will be provided in line with local health board policy.

The successful candidate will work with the School Nursing Team to organise and deliver the Welsh Government immunisation programme for school-aged children.

The candidate must be able to organise their own routine work independently. Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards public health are essential.

Welsh language skills are desirable; applications from Welsh and English speakers are equally welcome.
